What is stored
- er_sid
- Session cookie. Set only when you sign in, and it is what keeps you signed in. HttpOnly, so no script can read it, and SameSite=Strict, so it is not sent when another site links to us. Removed when you sign out or the session expires — at most 12 hours for a client, 8 for staff. Strictly necessary.
- er_lang
- Remembers whether you chose German or English, so you are not sent back to the default on your next visit. Set only when you actively pick a language. Strictly necessary for a function you requested.
- er-text-size
- Stored in your browser's local storage, not a cookie. Remembers the text size you chose in the client area. Never leaves your device.
- er-admin-lang
- Local storage, staff portal only. Remembers the interface language chosen there.
Why there is no cookie banner
A banner is required for storage that is not strictly necessary — analytics, advertising, profiling. This site has none of that. Everything above is either required to keep you signed in or a preference you actively set, which under §25(2) TTDSG does not require consent.
What we do not do
No analytics, no advertising or retargeting pixels, no social media plug-ins, no third-party fonts, no cross-site tracking, and no cookies set by anyone other than us. Opening a page on this site makes no request to any third party.
Refusing them
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking er_sid means you will not be able to sign in, because there is no other way for us to recognise your session.
